A nice long steady Sunday ride, all welcome. You can find detailed route info in the comments below. In summary: Heading out to Cannock Chase then up to Uttoxeter then near enough Alton before heading back to Draycott and back home. Endon people please note we'll meet at Endon Tennis Club entrance on Station Rd as we'll be going straight up to Caverswall.

Hi all. Proposed route for Sunday. I've tried to keep to lanes as much as possible - we may have to join main roads occasionally but only for short hops. I used Mapmyride.com to plot the route - I've got a GPX file which I'll stick on my Garmin and hopefully the turn-by-turn navigation will work. As a back up, if anyone has a Garmin or some other device capable of taking a GPX file please put a comment below with your email address and I'll send the file - the more people with the route the better. So route wise: We'll meet in Caverswall (time tbc) then head out to Stafford via the lanes - then I've plotted a quietish route to Cannock Chase - through Cannock Chase (optional café stop here or stop later: http://www.springsladelodge.co.uk/page16.html) - Rugely - Blithfield Reservoir - up to Marchington through Marchington Woods - Sunbury - on to a dedicated cycle track alongside (and underneath) the A50 to Spath - all the way up to near enough Alton via lanes - then I think I've found a great route back to Draycott all along lanes - then back to Forsbrook and back to Caverswall. The route is 80 miles and just over 4000ft climbing. Its about 60 miles though it you are doing Caverswall to Caverswall (its an extra 20 for Endon based people). So it has the potential to be a nice route if my Garmin decides to play ball. I'll take a map and some notes as back up but it'd be good to get the GPX on another couple of devices. Route here (I think you may need to register for Mapmyride to view) http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/560796754.
Pace wise, nice and steady. All welcome. Please let me know your thoughts below and whether you need the GPX file.
