This event is in the past.
This is a gravel based event with a twist !
At the sign on you'll receive a sealed envelope. Inside which is a map with half a route in it. Half the envelopes have a clockwise route in and half anti-clockwise.
At the checkpoint which is half way round you'll receive the other half of your route. To avoid things getting interesting and potentially messy on the climbs / descents the routes will vary slightly depending on which direction you go.
Being a reliability ride the route is unsigned, unsupported and unmarshalled. We've made this event a little bit shorter due to the time of year - the total distance is around the 60 km mark and you've 6 hours to complete the route.
There is are no GPX files for this event. We're going old school and you will have to be able to read / follow a map. Please bring a plastic bag or map case with you to carry the map.
Roughly 30% of the route is off road using lost lanes and bridleways. The route is therefore suitable for cross, MTB and gravel bikes. If you come on a road bike you may be on for a walk !
Our aim is to support some of the communities that you are travelling through, so there are no feed stations - we would rather you spend your money in our local pubs, cafes and shops. This is reflected in the price (£10 + £1 admin) which we've tried to keep as affordable as possible, but at a level to make the event sustainable.
The event HQ is at one of our fave cafe's in the Peak - Cafe Adventure who offer a huge choice of food and drink.
All riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and all riders under 18 must gain their guardians permission before entering.
Please note that this is not a race but a test of endurance and navigation skills. Not recommended for novice and inexperienced riders.
